Department of in-depth road accident analysis (O34)

The basis for traffic analysis is statistics about road accidents. This information can be obtained either by statistical analysis of secondary data or by conducting our own in-depth road accident analysis (CZIDAS), which is one of the crucial areas of interest of this section. In-depth analysis of road accidents is method used for efficient collection of essential information regarding the causes, course, and consequences of road accidents, from the perspective of driver, vehicle and road infrastructure. Systematical information classification can be applied directly e.g. to increase the safety of critical infrastructures through safety proposals and the implementation of traffic-safety measures. Furthermore it serves to increase the awareness of relevant state administration organizations, such as the Police of the Czech Republic, the local road administrators, etc.
